Senior most official also added that both offices in the US along with headquartering of Mercedes in Stuttgart are assessing the market. And, this vehicle will mainly be focused on Latin America, South Africa, Australia and Europe.
The collaboration of Daimler and Renault- Nissan has announced that they are working hard for the basic of Mercedes pickup truck. It will be named as ‘Mercedes GLT’ or Mercedes X-Class. The latest offering from Mercedes is expected to be launched as a four-door truck. Also, it will be based on the same pedestrian platform as Nissan NP300 Navara.

Although details about its powertrain configuration are still not known as this model is still in its development stage.
According to additional reports of Automotive News Europe Mercedes pickup truck is expected to feature a double cab. It will be targeted for both commercial and personal use of its buyers. “In the present scenario of the automobile industry, Mercedes-Benz is one of the leading premium brands across the world and thus we are looking forward to making latest pickup truck as elegant as possible”. Dieter Zetsche, Chairman of Daimler was quoted saying about the expansion plans.
He also added that “entering into the fast-growing division of pickup trucks is also considered as one of the crucial steps and remarkable” as with this step the automaker will be able to continue their global path.

In addition, it is also heard that the alliance of Nissan and Renault are also working on the development of 7-ton pickup truck for Renault. The collaboration will start manufacturing this vehicle from 2016 at Nissan’s plant in Cuernavaca, Mexico.
